.:: Download Ratio Policies ::.
    These are the Minimum Ratio Requirements based on how much you have downloaded. As Bitsoup is a sharing community, you are required to upkeep your sharing ratio at any time.

    Low ratio will result in a warning or exclusion from this community.

  • With a download Between: 5.0 GB and 9.0 GB you must have a ratio of at least 0.7
  • With a download Above: 9.0 GB you must have a ratio of at least 0.9

    Just remember: Who ever you are, What ever your status is, How many millions you did donate, if your ratio drops below 0.8 (with 10gigs or more d/l'ed) and we see no activity from you to get your ratio up we will ban you!!

    Depending on your ratio you may experience wait times on the newest uploaded torrents.

    The wait times relate to your ratio and uploaded amount in the following manor:

  • If your ratio < 0.5 and/or your upload < 5.0 GB wait = 24 hours
  • If your ratio < 0.65 and/or your upload < 5.0 GB wait = 12 hours
  • If your ratio < 0.8 and/or your upload < 5.0 GB wait = 6 hours
  • If your ratio < 0.95 and/or your upload < 5.0 GB wait = 3 hours
  • If your ratio > 0.95 and/or your upload > 10.0 GB wait = 0

    "And/or" means any or both. Your delay will be the largest one for which you meet at least one condition.
.:: Uploading rules - Torrents violating these rules may be deleted without notice ::.
    Full version including how-to's found here: Read before uploading!

    General Preparations

  • Uploading of torrents is restricted to Power User (3 weeks membership/ 10gb uploaded/ ratio > 1.05) and above.
  • Determine ahead of time whether you have the time, bandwidth and opportunity to seed your torrent
    for at least 24 hours, until it has at least 4 active seeders other than yourself and/or has been snatched 8 times.
  • Make sure that you properly prepare your files before making the actual torrent. It takes a bit
    of time to properly pack and prepare the files, but the time is well spent, as you are sure to
    receive a lot more Thank You notes for a torrent well prepared.

    Basic Uploading Rules

     * All uploads must include a proper NFO within the torrent itself.
     * All uploads must include an SFV file.
     * All uploads which are not music must be RAR'd
     * ZIP files are NOT allowed, please repack into RAR files, ZIPPED files WILL be deleted
     * Pre-release stuff should be labeled with an *ALPHA* or *BETA* tag.
     * Do not upload cracks/fixes/serials for Applications/Games on their own, Only full working releases are allowed here.
     * Make sure not to include any mention of serial numbers, CD keys, Cracks, Keygens or similar in the description, title and/or .torrent name (you do not need to edit the NFO!).
     * Make sure your torrents are well-seeded for at least 24 hours. (rather 48 hours)
     * Do not include the release date in the torrent name.
     * If you are having internet trouble which may interfere with your seeding, let the leechers know a small torrent comment post can save alot of confusion.
     * A detailed torrent description is a must 1 or 2 lines does is not a detailed description.
     * Microsoft OS and Programs ARE NOT ALLOWED ON BITSOUP, they will be deleted the moment you upload them.
     * SFX/Self Extracting Archives are not allowed.

    All torrents must come with a properly prepared .nfo file

  • Always provide a proper .nfo file with your torrent, which provides the downloaders with all the necessary information they could possibly need.

       Here is what a proper .nfo file should contain for most uploads:

     * Release date
     * Quality information
     * Language/subtitle information (on torrent to which such applies)
     * Resolution (on torrent to which such applies)
     * Type/genre
     * Format
     * Size
     * An accurate description of the game, movie or application (a tracklist for music files).links to further info and/or screenshots, where available.
     * More guidelines to make a proper .nfo file can be found in the forums.

    RARing Your Upload

       Always properly compress the files you are planning to upload.
  • All files (except music) need to be compressed into properly sized rar archives.
  • Only music files do not need to be RARd (MP3/WMA/FLAC/AAC/APE/WAV)

    The correct size of the archive depends on how big the upload is going to be, as a general rule 14.3mb or (15,000,000 Bytes) per archive is for for stuff that will go on a cd-r And 47.68mb or (50,000,000 Bytes) per archive is for stuff that will fit on a dvd-r.

  • Please refer to the Rar Size Chart found Here to ensure your download will not be deleted for improper packaging.

    Some additional notes:

  • Releases that consist of multiple disks, must be released as a single torrent.
  • Please note that the only files that do not need to be in RAR files are music files.

    Always make an .sfv file to come with the files in your torrent.

    - Create a .sfv file for the files of your upload. What does it do ? - A .sfv file provides the downloader
      with a means to check for possible errors that might occur during the download, it basically creates an
      error checking algorithm for the selected files in your torrent, and it would signal if e.g. file pieces
      went missing during the downloading process. And the good thing is, it takes only a minute to make.

     Here is what to do to make a .sfv file:

     - If you do not have it already, download and install QuickSfv, a small app that can be found here:

        http://www.quicksfv.org/

     - Once QuickSfv is installed, open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder that contains the files you
        intend to use for your upload and select/highlight all the files in the folder that belong to the torrent
        you plan to upload (that includes the .nfo file, by the way).
     - Right-click and select Create .SFV file in the context menu.
     - In the window that pops open you can name your .sfv file and select the place to save it to
       (save it to the same folder that the selected files are in).
     - Press OK and your .sfv file will be created.

    Here are some specific requirements based on the type of file you are going to upload:

  • Only upload music in mp3 format with a bitrate of 128 kbps or higher
    (The higher the bitrate the better the quality of the mp3 file).
  • Do not upload music formats that are not generally supported.
  • Please upload only true DVD-R releases, such as Retail or Screener DVDs in DVD-R. Do no convert other movie formats, e.g. Xvid, SVCD into DVD-R format.

    A few pointers that make the torrent-sharing community happy in general:
  • Particularly XXX & DVD files tend to be very, very popular, so make sure you have the necessary bandwidth available to offer satisfactory upload speeds. This to avoid your surprise ...
  • Do not to seed too many torrents at a time. Seeding many torrents on slow speeds, slows down the downloads of all your fellow members on those torrents. Unless you have at least a 1mb upload connection, a maximum of 3 torrents down-/uploading should be considered.
  • Try not to seed files bigger than your connection is capable of in a reasonable amount of time, i.e. uploading a dvd at 10kbps might not make everyone as happy.
